How to Make a Difference-How Islam Transformed the First Generation of Muslims to Become "Leaders of the World"--by Dr. Waleed Basyouni |
Allah has sent Muahmmad (salla Allah alayhee wa sallam) with guidance and the true religion to take the people out of darkness into the light and to guide them to that which is good for them in this life and the hereafter. The Prophet (saw) came to a nation known as al-jahiliyah, which is a term that described their time and literally means the days of ignorance. Furthermore the Prophet (saw) transformed this society to become a source of light a source of guidance and a source of positive influence not only in Makkah, not only in Madina, not only in Arabia but the whole entire world.
That impact did not only remain for weeks, or months or years after the Prophet (salla Allah alayhee wa sallam), it rather continued after that and changed the face of the history of humanity until today in the [presence] of the Ummah Know as the Ummah of Muslims. That is why Allah (ta'ala) described this generation (the group that the Prophet (salla Allah alayhee wa sallam) had called to Islam and [who] embraced Islam) as the best nation ever raised for mankind. It was not just a religion. This generation became a role model for every generation that came after them. They are a role model for us to follow in their footsteps. The Prophet (salla Allah alayhee wa sallam) said: "[it is] what I am upon today and my companions." The way to success in this life and salvation in the hereafter is to follow my way and the way of my companions.
| THE WORLD OF JINN-Dr. Waleed al Besyouni |
May 8, 2009
Jinn is an accountable being. Allah created them with free will. Like humans they have the choice to do what is good or what is bad. That is why among them there are the good jinn and the bad jinn. Allah says: “And among us are the righteous ones and the other types ; we have been created in variant levels.” So basically they are accountable beings; they will be judged like you and me and him and her. They are going to be held accountable. In the Quran, Allah declared the reason why He created them. He said: “I have not created Jinn and Man except to worship Me.” Allah mentioned jinn before man because jinn was created before man. They were in existence before people. Some scholars like sheikh Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said that the father of all jinn was Iblees. Iblees was the first jinn to be created as Adam was the first human to be created. Their proof for that was what the Quran said in so many places such as in surat al Araf: “Do you take him and his progeny as friends besides Allah whereas they are your enemy.” So this ayah, like many other ayaat, was what led the scholars to say that Iblees was the father of the jinn, and the story between Adam and Iblees was a story between the father of humanity and the father of jinn.
