Like many of you, we were deeply saddened and disturbed by the tragic shooting that took place today at the Islamic Center in San Diego. Our hearts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and the entire community affected by this horrific act. We ask Allah to grant mercy to those who lost their lives, complete healing to the injured, and patience and strength to all those impacted.
At the same time, we do not want fear to divide us or weaken our community. Our masajid must continue to remain places of prayer, peace, service, and unity. We encourage everyone to remain vigilant, support one another, and continue standing together against hatred, violence, extremism, antisemitism, Islamophobia, and all attacks targeting houses of worship and innocent people.
As mass shootings continue to impact communities across our nation, we pray for a future where every person can worship, gather, and live in safety and peace.
May Allah protect our communities and bring healing to all those affected.
