Mediation | Coaching | Conflict Resolution
If all parties would like to learn more and ask questions, our next step would be a complimentary, 30-minute Discovery Call via Zoom where I present info about mediation and discuss as many questions/concerns as you'd like.
Discovery Call Info:
I offer Marriage Mediation and Divorce Mediation (descriptions below), and other mediation services. If the decision is not final, couples can start out with Marriage Mediation then switch to Divorce Mediation if they want.
The discovery call is where I gain clarity about your case and desired outcomes, answer any questions you may have about the process and my Mediation Services Agreement, and outline your next steps in preparation for your first, individual intake sessions, after which sessions will be primarily joint with some use of private caucusing and private conflict coaching.
We'll discuss what mediation is, how it works, and how it's different from marriage therapy. I have found mediation seems to be the lesser-known field/option.
I'll explain my approach, confidentiality, and impartiality (neutrality), and your right to self-determination.
Mediation can include a mix of joint and individual sessions. The individual sessions are considered "Private Caucus," meaning what is discussed must stay confidential to that party and cannot be shared with the other party without explicit permission.
We can do Q&A jointly and/or in private Zoom breakout rooms for sensitive questions.
Feel free to review my website for more information (it's in-progress for needed updates)
My rate is $95/hour.
About Marriage & Divorce Mediation:
Marriage Mediation:
For couples wanting to save their marriage or discern whether or not to divorce, I offer Marriage Mediation to help spouses reach a mutual, durable, and written agreement. I help clarify their interests versus demands, and explore and reality-test areas of willingness and capacity while facilitating understanding and negotiation of each spouse's asks or redlines in the form of proposals and counter-proposals.
Mediation can be done in parallel with marriage counseling/therapy or after it. Each spouse can also pursue individual therapy/counseling during the mediation process, if desired. We can include therapists and Islamic scholars in some sessions. If both spouses agree, Islamic elements of naseeha (advice) and/or islah (reconciliation) can be incorporated into a mix of joint and individual sessions.
Divorce Mediation:
For couples who have decided they are ready and sure to proceed with divorce, I offer Divorce Mediation to facilitate reaching mutual, durable, and written agreement regarding child support, child custody, division or addressing community and separate property, and spousal support.
We can include Islamic scholars, attorneys, financial experts, and therapists, if needed during the process - but it's possible to go without. If both parties agree, Islamic elements of naseeha (advice) can be incorporated into a mix of joint and individual sessions.
